My iPod is being pretty stupid. The touch screen won’t work. For instance, I can’t slide the unlock bar. I used the button on top and the home screen button to turn it off. When I turned it back on, I got the same results. If anyone could help me out, that would be great. I already understand the option of sending it back to Apple, so if you can come up with something else, that would be appreciated.
There’s a small scratch on the screen of my iPod Touch and I heard that toothpaste can get out scratches but does it work for the screen on an iPod Touch?
If not, is there any other household product that can get it out?

I am running OS X 10.4.11 and have an iPod Touch. I would like to be able to see what is running on my iPod Touch using my Mac screen, in the same way that has been shown at the Apple Keynote speeches (when games and apps have been demoed). How do I do it? Is there a piece of software or an AppleScript that I can download to do it?
